Benefits Clerk- Part Time

The Benefits Clerk will work with our employees to explain and answer questions related to their benefits. This is a part time role Monday- Friday (~30 hours per week), with an opportunity for a flexible schedule during standard business hours.

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management, supervision, and employees
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills

Overview of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Handles insurance (medical, dental, vision, life)
  • Process short-term disability and 401K paperwork for employees
  • Maintain monthly spreadsheets to report on benefits
  • Reconciles insurance premium payroll deductions.
  • Back up to the Accounts Payable Clerk and receptionist as needed.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Maintain vendor files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Other job related duties as requested

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum two years prior benefits experience, with a High School diploma or equivalent degree required
  • College or technical school courses in human resources preferred
  • Ability to communicate via both verbal and written correspondence, bilingual preferred
  • Ability to follow company’s established procedures
  • Detail oriented and reliable, with a professional attitude
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
