HR and Safety Assistant

Full-Time | Columbus, OH

First Shift Position Available.

The Human Resources and Safety Assistant will support the daily operations of the HR and Safety teams and report directly to the HR Manager with dotted line reporting to Safety Manager.


  • Conduct new hire orientation and continued safety and environmental employee training
  • Maintain documentation of safety training, compliance, and workers compensation claims
  • Greet prospective employees and distribute application materials
  • Answer HR related phone calls and respond to inquiries on application status
  • Gather, compile, and verify information for orientation
  • Daily filing, scanning and copying HR related materials
  • Collaborate with multiple internal departments to complete daily HR duties
  • Other job related duties as requested


  • 1 year of related HR and Safety experience
  • Ability to work with confidential information in a discreet manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have excellent problem solving abilities and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment
  • First Aid and CPR Certification, preferred.
  • Successful completion of OSHA training, a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • All safety related training, as necessary
