Training Coordinator (Manufacturing)

First-shift role (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM) requiring flexibility to provide support for second- and third-shift operations when business needs arise.

 

The Training Coordinator – Manufacturing, is an important part of the hiring and education process within the company. The Training Coordinator works within the Learning & Development team (under the Human Resources umbrella).

The Training Coordinator collaborates with Operations Management to identify training requirements and institutes plans for training new and existing employees. Additionally, the Training Coordinator has familiarity with instructional methods and skill development. They use these skills to support the rest of the team to help ensure all employees are working efficiently and to company standards.

As a Training Coordinator in any of the four Birchwood Foods facilities, your primary focus is the creation of training programs for our hourly manufacturing associates. You will work closely with our HR, Safety, FSQA & Production teams to lead Train the Trainer certification, the creation of Standard of Work Instructions (SWI) and the approval process, creation of Job Instruction Training, as well as coordinate training timetables for JIT with production department management, with responsibility to oversee the administration of employee training within our manufacturing facility.

You will work in collaboration with the Corporate Director of Learning and Development and the Director of Operations.

The Training Coordinator – Manufacturing will be responsible for creating and managing learning/training content based upon needs analysis, identifying a Trainer network and certification process to ensure capability, as well as deploying skills assessments and training validation methods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of SWIs and JI training programs for hourly associates within the manufacturing plant
  • Responsible for driving training solutions, utilizing known training methodologies, to include needs assessment (survey, focus groups, leader or SME input and personal observation), building curriculum and design instruction
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of our training programs by actively reviewing feedback
  • Administrative record keeping of all required records, paperwork, documents
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with management to proactively identify topics to be address or areas in need of additional instruction

Background/experience

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience implementing, developing, and evaluating training, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to connect & build relationships with all levels of the workforce, leading & coaching others to be their best.
  • Experience with a learning management system (LMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
