Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor will assess all damaged and non-functional equipment and make decisions regarding the corrective action needed to repair and fix said equipment. Responsibilities include delegating assignments and instructing maintenance technicians.

Key Competencies:

  • Lead Maintenance team’s response to production and facility needs (i.e. equipment breakdown, machine upgrades, and/or adjustments).
  • Able to provide hands-on support & coaching for the Maintenance team technicians in troubleshooting and repairing machinery and systems, such as PLC’s (Allen-Bradley) and cookers & spice delivery systems, and spiral freezers.
  • Skilled in repairing and troubleshooting  all electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission components/equipment and able to transfer this knowledge to Maintenance technicians.
  • Skilled in performing repairs on facility utility systems (i.e. hot water boilers, and ammonia systems, electrical MCC) and able to transfer this knowledge to Maintenance technicians.
  • Ensure the preventative maintenance functions are scheduled and completed by the Maintenance team.
  • Excellent communication skills demonstrated through collaboration with maintenance and production management
  • Knowledge of CMMS system to ensure proper recording of equipment parts usage/needs, PM completions, work orders and daily activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible, organized, and self-motivated

 

Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing setting
  • Prior maintenance experience in the food or meat industry
  • 2- 4 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Experienced in plumbing, 480v electrical, welding, refrigeration, hydraulic and pneumatic controls
  • Experience with PLC’s and welding, a plus
  • HACCP, Lock out/ Tag out, GMP, Safety, and Sanitation training
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to work in a refrigerated environment
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
