Security/Truck Yard Attendant
Shift: Flexible 2nd or 3rd
Location: Kenosha County, WI
Reports To: Safety Manager
Job Overview:
The Security/Truck Yard Attendant supports the facility & logistics team in efficiently managing truck movements, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety and food safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Yard Management:
– Inspecting and directing incoming and outgoing trucks to appropriate areas within the yard.
– Monitor the yard and parking lots for any safety hazards or issues and report them to the supervisor.
– Conduct routine visual inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment for compliance with food safety standards.
– Maintain accurate logs and issue credentials for incoming visitors to the facility
– Monitor inbound/outbound arrivals, departures, and trailer temperatures.
– Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed for any visitors.
– Assist in training new staff on yard procedures and safety practices.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the yard for extended periods, often on uneven ground and all-weather conditions.
– Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.
– Good visual acuity is required to assess vehicle conditions and identify compliance hazards.
– Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
Qualifications:
– Prior experience in trucking, or yard environment preferred but not mandatory.
– Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
The position is primarily outdoors within the security guard building and incoming and outgoing trucks where exposure to various weather conditions is expected. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety vests and gloves are required.
